You are so ready to make a ruckus. We ❤️AOC. So Much.29-year old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the youngest woman to ever serve in the House of Representatives. She serves as the U.S. Representative for New York's 14th Congressional District, a seat which she won in one of the biggest upset victories in 2018. She began her political campaign while bartending and waiting tables near her home in the Bronx. She ran a successful campaign with $194,000 in campaign funds vs. her opponent's $3.4 million.
In high school she won second place in the prestigious Intel International Science and Engineering Fair with a microbiology research project, and in college she majored in International Relations and Economics.
After college she moved back to the Bronx and worked as a bartender and waitress to help her mother pay for their apartment, which was at risk for foreclosure after her father had passed away.
Some of the things she stands for include: tuition free public college and trade school, guaranteed famly leave, abolishing ICE, renewable energy, and gun control.
“Are you all ready to make a ruckus? Are you all ready to fight for our rights? Everyone deserves justice, and everyone deserves equal protection and prosperity in our country.....Justice is about making sure that being polite is not the same thing as being quiet. In fact, often times, the most righteous thing you can do is shake the table."
