In celebration of the wonderful, terrifying and glorious adventures of motherhood we thought we would spotlight a mama that we recently had the pleasure of meeting and following.
Meet Taylor Abshure- Mama to 2 boys, wife and seeker of fresh air and a good thrift store. We sent her over a few good questions about motherhood, relationships and inspiration that we think you will love and relate to!
Also, we'd love to hear from you...shoot us over an email with your answers to these questions!
HAPPY READING!!
If you had 24 hrs to yourself and $1,000 to spend, what would you do?
I would spend most of my morning getting pampered with a massage, facial, mani, and pedi. spend some hours thrift store shopping finding treasures to go into our home, hiking for a nice view and some fresh air (hopefully in the Redlands) and find myself a nice hotel, preferably with a jacuzzi tub and you’ll most likely find me sleeping until my 24 hours is up!
What's the last thing you bribed your kids to do?
With veggie straws - a simple hair brush to change those dirty diapers because this mamas got little wiggly worms!
What book have you read that kept you up way past bedtime?
The Hunger Games
Aside from your family, who inspires you?
I am inspired by many other people, other moms in particular. I get a lot of inspiration from other woman who empower others as I feel that is my purpose as well.
What motto or mantra has been on repeat for you lately?
Always progress, never perfection
Prior to having kids, what is one thing you would have judged concerning parenting styles?
Eating habits (although mine aren’t always the best either) I always thought parents should be taking the time to prepare healthy food for their children when in reality some days we just don’t have the time or let’s be real, the money to get the organic, non-gmo, whatever it may be. But I am a firm believer in fed is best, no matter how you choose to feed your child - at least your doing your best mamas!
If you could share one piece of advice with your pre-kid self what would they be?
Love, always. so many years of education yet no one taught us how to love ourselves and why it’s so important.
How did you come up with your kids' names?
Believe it or not, just your average baby books but once we saw them - they stuck.
